Beautiful Gloom

Tenderness...

I have been asked many times why I keep talking/writing about Tenderness, or how Tenderness Radio is coming along. The radio program is still in its developmental stages, and is part of The Tenderness Campaign, created to inform people about the emotional, finacial, and physical abuse that is incrementally destroying our lives, and our communities, as a result.

I personally believe all abuse and violence stems from undealt issues within. Many hurt others due to their inability to confront/deal with these issues, while others tend to want to help others in that process, which can, in my opinion, only happen if they learn first how to be tender to their selves.

This undertaking can be uncomfortable and challenging, but not impossible, since the only thing one truly has control over is the development and growth of one's own soul.

TENDERNESS is defined as "a tendency to express warm, affectionate, compassionate, positive, protective and sentimental feelings of liking, regard, respect, friendship, esteem, welfare and sympathy for someone or something."

I urge you to turn your focus inward before trying to help others. Always Remember to be TENDER to your SELF.

Even in our darkest times, there are seeds of light within ourselves, we need only call them forward.

"Anyone who has walked through the valley of despair and come out the other side knows that even in that darkness, seeds of light can be found. Often their tendrils reach out of the gloom and into the daylight alongside the journeyer who emerges from that deep sorrow. When we find ourselves in a place of despair, it can help us to know this, so that we don’t give up. We can stop, take a deep breath, and remind ourselves that we will find ourselves on the other side of this troubled time, and that we may even emerge with something new to offer."
